Guthrie is committed to employing a talented and compassionate group of professional nurses to care for our patients and residents. We offer nursing opportunities in a wide variety of care settings – critical, maternity, med-surg, home health, hospice, long-term, regional offices and more. In the inpatient setting at Robert Packer Hospital, our nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6 for med-surg on days and 1:8-9 on nights, and 1:2 for ICU. At Guthrie, nursing is valued and supported. We focus on keeping our staff-to-patient ratios at appropriate levels and maintaining an education-rich environment. We offer continuing education, the opportunity to interact with residency program faculty, nationally-known physicians, as well as the chance to perform patient education and community outreach.
