Employment at GuthrieFREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS The following are frequently asked questions related to employment at Guthrie. If your question is not answered here, please call Guthrie’s Human Resources Department at (570) 882-4401.
Q. When will I hear back from someone in Human Resources about the resume I sent? A. Your resume is entered into our resume database. The timeframe varies depending upon the number and types of openings we have, as well as the number and qualifications of other applicants. Guthrie receives an extremely large number of resumes. It is not possible to call everyone who applies for a job with Guthrie.
Q. Can you send me a list of your current job opportunities? A. Unfortunately, we cannot send out lists of our current job opportunities. However, you may view a complete listing of open positions at Guthrie on our on our website.
Q. How do I know if my resume or application has been received? A. Guthrie’s Human Resources Department will send you a postcard one to four weeks after we receive your resume or application.
Q. How long will my resume be kept on file? A. Your resume will remain active in our database for one year after submission. During that time, it may be reviewed on a periodic basis for open jobs for which you may be qualified.
Q. How will you match my resume to jobs that I may qualify for? A. The Human Resources resume database system searches for key words, such as job skills, educational degrees or certificates you hold, and work experience. These criteria are used to match your resume to job openings that require the skills, educational level, certification or work experience you have.
Q. I am interested in working for Guthrie. Could you please send me an application? A. Guthrie’s Human Resources Department does not mail applications – please click here to download and print an application for completion.
Q. May I talk to a recruiter about the status of the resume I sent? A. Guthrie receives a large number of job applicants for many of our open jobs. The recruitment staff cannot give status updates about the resumes that we have received.
Q. I was interested in a job I saw in your online postings a while ago. Why can't I find it now? A. Guthrie’s online job postings are updated weekly. If you can no longer find a particular job listing, the position has been filled.
Q. What information will I need to provide to have my resume matched to jobs for which I qualify? A. Give as much information as possible about your past jobs, job skills, education and experience with equipment and software. Key words are taken from this information and matched against the requirements of open jobs. The more information you give, the better Human Resources can match your resume to available jobs.
Q. Do I need to include a cover letter with my resume and application? A. You only need to include a cover letter if you want to provide additional information about yourself and your work history that is not included on your resume.
Q. How may I submit my resume? There are several ways to submit your resume. You may fax, mail or apply for any position listed online 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Q. May I stop by your office and drop off my resume or complete an application? A. Yes, you are welcome to drop off your resume or to complete an application in the Human Resources Department at the address above Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 8 AM to 5 PM.
