The Robert Packer Hospital/Guthrie Auxiliary was founded the same year the hospital opened in 1885. Over the last 10 years, they have given more than $800,000 to the hospital and other Guthrie organizations and community projects. What is the Auxiliary?

The Auxiliary consists of all volunteers who help support a variety of hospital projects.

 

These projects include:

·         Supporting the House of Hope, Lifeline, and Guthrie Hospice

·         Managing the Tree for Life project

·         Making heart pillows for cardiac patients

·         Providing sweat suits for emergency department patients

·         Scholarship Program for VolunTeens and Deb Noles Scholarship for nursing students

 

The Auxiliary raises money through various fundraiser endeavors, including hosting books sales on the Sayre campus throughout the year and through the operation of the Robert Packer Hospital Gift Shop.

 

The Auxiliary was asked by the hospital to manage the Gift Shop in 1975, with the grand opening in 1977. For the past 30 years the Auxiliary has staffed the Gift Shop, with proceeds from sales benefiting Auxiliary causes.

The Robert Packer Hospital/Guthrie Auxiliary’s mission is to actively support the mission of Robert Packer Hospital, and the role it plays as an integral part of the Guthrie Healthcare System.  The Auxiliary’s role in support of the hospital is focused on providing resources for advanced technologies and equipment, community support/outreach, and education of the next generation of health care professionals.

 

This mission will be carried out through these three primary areas of focus:

 

·         Fundraising

·         Community Support

·         Health Education Scholarships
