Impotence And Erectile Dysfunction:

Erectile dysfunction is a condition that affects many men as they age. In the 40’s, it is estimated that approximately 2-5% of men suffer from some form of erectile dysfunction; while at age 60, the incidence may be as high as 25-30%. Numerous treatment options are available for treatment of erectile dysfunction and impotence. The Section of Urology at the Guthrie Clinic provides all diagnostic and treatment options for these conditions.

-DRUGS: Viagral, Yohimbine

INTRACORPRAL PROSTAGLANDIN: This is a drug that patients can be taught to inject into the penis to induce erections.

INTRAURETHRAL PROSTAGLANDIN (MUSE): This is a form of a drug. Prostaglandin  can be inserted in the natural opening of the penis to produce an erection.

VACUUM TUMESCENCE DEVICE: These are external devices that are placed on the penis producing a vacuum that produces an erection.

PENILE IMPLANTS: These are surgically implanted devices that artificially produce erections. These are permanently implanted at the time of a surgical procedure.
