The combined Section of Otolaryngology & Facial Plastic Surgery provides comprehensive services in both fields for both adult and pediatric patients.

Otolaryngology offers medical and surgical treatment for diseases of the ear, nose, sinuses, salivary glands, larynx, oral cavity, neck, and esophagus. Special strengths of the section include microscopic surgery for chronic ear disease and deafness, laser surgery for the larynx, and endoscopic sinus surgery. Modern techniques are utilized for the management of maxillofacial trauma, head and neck tumors, as well as management of obstructive sleep apnea. Acoustic neuroma surgery (both fossa and posterior fossa approaches) performed as a team with members of Section of Neurosurgery.

Within the Section of Otolaryngology, services are available for audiology and speech pathology. These include hearing threshold testing, tympanometry, and site of lesion testing. State of the art techniques are employed for the evaluation and dispensing of hearing aids and hearing devices, evaluation and therapy for disorders of speech, brain stem audiometry, and comprehensive vestibular testing (ENG).

Facial Plastic Surgery provides reconstructive and cosmetic surgical procedures of the face, head and neck area including cosmetic and functional nose surgery (rhinoplasty and septorhinoplasty), management of aging face (rhytidectomy or face lift), aging eyelids (blepharoplasty), otoplasty for congenital ear deformity, facial scar revision, acne scars dermabrasion, laser skin surgery (CO 2 and Argon), surgical management of skin cancers, as well as comprehensive management of facial, head and neck trauma.
