Relocation allowance of $5,000 for all categorical PGY 1s; $2,000
for Preliminary Surgical Residents; $750 for PGY-2, 3, 4 and 5. The relocation allowance is included in the first
paycheck.

Medical insurance for the individual or family
plan is included at no cost.

Dental insurance for the resident is provided at
no cost; family coverage is available for a fee of $17.10 per pay period.

$50,000 term life insurance, with an accidental
death and dismemberment rider, is provided at no cost for the resident.
Residents may elect to purchase term life insurance for their dependents for a
minimal amount.

Professional liability insurance provided free of
charge throughout residency with tail coverage following completion of the
training program.

Guthrie/Robert Packer Hospital pays the licensing
fees for the Medical Training license in the

during residency.

and on-call.

Three lab coats provided annually.

Private on-call rooms in the hospital.

Time Away: PGY-1 receive 15 days; PGY 2 through 7

Clinical Assistant Instructor Faculty
Appointments through the State University of New York Upstate Medical
University are available for residents at Guthrie. Through these
appointments, residents have access to Upstate’s Library Enhanced Access
Program (LEAP).
