Volunteer Opportunities
WHY VOLUNTEER?
Volunteers play vital roles throughout Robert Packer Hospital, Guthrie Clinic and Guthrie entities. There are many opportunities for volunteers who wish to donate a couple hours of their time each week, ranging from clerical tasks to interacting with patients and their
families. Volunteer opportunities are available at all Guthrie entities including, RPH, Sayre House, Guthrie Home Health,
and Guthrie Hospice. Currently, the RPH Volunteer Department has approximately 150 adult volunteers who donate
30,000 hours each year. If you’d like to discover a new, rewarding experience by volunteering, call Bev Varner, Director of Volunteers at 882-4241.
To be a volunteer means many things:
- You care about people and want to help them.
- You care about your community and the role
your health care facility plays in the community.
- You are concerned about the well-being of
patients. By relieving professional personnel of certain detail work, you
may free their time for direct patient care. You also improve patient care
by performing personal tasks for patients that the professional staff would
not have time for.
