Troy Community Hospital![]() 100 John St. Troy, PA 16947 (570) 297-2121 Officially designated a Critical Access Hospital in 2002, Troy Community Hospital offers a wide range of outpatient services including diagnostic testing, rehabilitation, medical and surgical care. Troy also maintains 24-hour emergency services as well as very successful sub-acute and ventilator management programs. At Troy Community Hospital we believe we offer a highly personalized approach to medical, surgical and specialty care. Our staff works closely together to deliver an exceptional patient experience to those we serve. This goal is supported by the outstanding patient satisfaction ratings we’ve received for the past several years.
Our clinical staff of physicians, registered nurses, therapists, ancillary and support staff provide excellent care and management of medical problems and surgical interventions. Our surgeons and operating room staff offer many of the same procedures you might expect to find at larger hospitals, both for inpatients and those having same-day procedures. From minor procedures such as dental surgeries, tubal ligations, and even hernia repair to more involved procedures like gall bladder surgery, hysterectomies or colon surgery, our experienced team has the skills to meet your surgical needs.
Diagnostic Services Troy Community Hospital offers a wide range of diagnostic services. From the more standard laboratory tests and radiological studies to procedures such as endoscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy and gastroscopy, our team of clinicians is able to perform nearly any test, exam or procedure your physician might order to help diagnose and treat your medical condition. Special arrangements are made each year during the months of May and October for the hospital, in conjunction with the American Cancer Society, to offer low-cost Mammography exams to those who qualify.
Sub-Acute Care This special program has been designed to bridge the gap between a hospital stay and independent living. The Sub-Acute Program meets the needs of those patients who no longer meet the criteria for a traditional acute care setting, but are not yet ready to care for themselves. Because it emphasizes restorative and rehabilitative care, the Sub-Acute Program provides hospital patients with an alternative to long term care by offering individualized plans of care that will enable them to return home.
The respiratory therapy department, in conjunction with other clinical staff, has developed a unique program that meets the needs of patients whose respiratory systems have been severely compromised by illness, chronic disease or traumatic events and, as a result, have been on ventilators for extended periods of time. The hospital team has been especially successful with its short-term ventilator program. This aspect of the program is designed to help patients who have been on ventilators for varying periods of time to breathe and live more independently.
Rehabilitation As a part of the Guthrie Healthcare System, Troy Community Hospital shares a staff of highly skilled, experienced and specialized physical, sports medicine, occupational and speech therapists who provide both inpatient and outpatient services. The hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation program is certified by the American Association of Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. In addition, the Cardiac Rehabilitation program is staffed by a cardiac rehabilitation nurse who is also certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as an Exercise Specialist, which distinguishes this program.
Dedicated to meeting its community’s needs, the hospital offers an Emergency Department that is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, a singular accomplishment for a small, rural facility. The hospital’s commitment to supporting the continuum of pre-hospital and hospital care is underscored by its collaborative efforts to form the now independent Western Alliance EMS, an ambulance company that provides medical and non-urgent transport to the rural communities of Bradford County.
Patients who can be cared for at the hospital are treated and admitted from the Emergency Department. Those requiring more specialized care or surgery are stabilized and prepared for transport to a larger facility, including Robert Packer Hospital. With a helicopter stationed in Sayre, PA, just a few minutes away by air, this service literally saves lives by making the transport of critically ill or injured patients both medically safe and fast.
