Continuing Medical Education
The purpose of Guthrie Health’s Continuing Medical
Education (CME) Program is to enhance the physician’s ability to care for
patients. It is the department’s responsibility to be an accredited provider
of Category I CME activities, to maintain the facilities’ accreditation status
in order to provide Category I CME credit and to ensure that activities planned
and implemented are designed primarily for that purpose.
The mission of CME is to provide educational
activities that maintain, develop and/or enhance the knowledge, skills and
professional performance of physicians. CME serves as a catalyst for the
lifelong learning process of physicians, with an intent to improve performance
and health care outcomes in a changing professional environment impacted by
evolving societal needs, practice patterns and scientific development. Guthrie
Health is committed to promoting a continuous learning environment for our
physicians. We strive to utilize our resources to educate our physicians and
benefit the people of our communities. In order to achieve this mission, we
intend to design and provide conferences, seminars, workshops, and enduring
material for Guthrie Health.
