The Internship

The medical technology curriculum at Robert Packer Hospital is a 48-week professional internship that provides the clinical requirements for a baccalaureate degree. The clinical courses and rotations are all conducted in dedicated facilities located on our main campus and are well equipped with sophisticated clinical lab instruments. The quality of education is enhanced by our student-to-instructor ratio of 8 to 1 in the clinical courses.

The professional internship consists of two terms. Term I includes all clinical courses, lectures and student laboratory exercises. The laboratory component closely correlates with the lecture assignment each day. Each course is separately presented, and does not overlap with other course. Term II is a 20-clinical rotation where students rotate in a supervised, structured, diagnostic laboratory.

Degrees and Awards

Upon completion of the internship, students receive a baccalaureate degree from their affiliated university and a certificate in clinical laboratory sciences from Robert Packer Hospital.
